GDF SUEZ Energy Resources to Supply Renewable Energy Certificates to Association of Energy Engineers for 2010 Globalcon

Atlanta – March 2, 2010 – GDF SUEZ Energy Resources, the retail energy business of GDF SUEZ Energy North America, will supply renewable energy certificates (RECs) to the Association of Energy Engineers for the 2010 Globalcon Conference & Expo.

The Green-e certified RECs from GDF SUEZ Energy Resources will match the electricity consumed at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia where the two-day expo will take place March 24-25.

“The Association of Energy Engineers’ commitment to using clean, renewable energy for the 2010 Globalcon Conference & Expo should be applauded and underscore that there are ample opportunities for organizations to make their operations greener and more sustainable,” said Bob Wilson, President and CEO for GDF SUEZ Energy Resources.

“GDF SUEZ Energy Resources is proud of its relationship with the AEE and the Globalcon Expo, and proud to underscore our continuing dedication to environmental responsibility.”

Globalcon attendees can visit the GDF SUEZ Energy Resources booth, #236, to see how the company can assist businesses with a full range of energy concerns – from mitigating commodity market risks to managing demand and consumption.

“With over 200 exhibitors and 2,500 attendees expected at the expo, the Association of Energy Engineers wants to send a message that renewable energy certificates give us an ability to both improve the sustainability of Globalcon 2010 and highlight the use of renewable energy to businesses, energy managers and energy engineers nationwide” said AEE Executive Director Albert Thumann.

An REC represents the environmental benefits of electricity generated from wind, solar or other renewable power facilities. Organizations may use RECs to reduce their indirect greenhouse gas emissions and help support the operation and development of domestic sources of cleaner, renewable energy.
